Objective: to create public art to enhance pedestrian enjoyment of the sidewalk environment on Lincoln Avenue in San Jose, CA
Artistic Idea: modern abstact shapes that reflect the sunlight and busy visual landscape during both the day and evening.
Obstacles: Visually busy background with the theather marquee which lights up at night
Solution: Take advantage of the lights from the Marquee with moving reflective stainless steel forms. During the daylight hours these forms reflect the sunlight in a jewel like pattern.
