The goal of this commission was to tie together the 1.9 mile long avenue that runs through the center of El Cerrito CA. We created 12 abstract wind sculptures that reflect the city's diverse ever involving culture. Each one is fabricated out of copper and placed within a stainless steel open circle. In order not to compete with the visually busy streetscape, we mounted them 20 feet above the ground on street light poles. The abstract elements move with the wind in order to create a visual impact for both pedestrians and drivers.
